A little late for Halloween
My church had a harvest festival (a safe alternative to trick-or-treating) on October 31st.
This is essentially a Halloween party, but demons, devils, vampires, etc. are asked not to come. I just got the pictures back
We had games for the kids, a cake-walk, pinatas, music, etc. We finished it off with "trunk-or-treating": the kids hit the parking lot where the adults are sitting with trunks full of candy & treats. The nice thing about this is that you know everybody who is giving out candy. (Of course, they all know you as well, so some of the "anonymous fun" is lost).
It was a great time. I went as Joliet Jake (the fat one), and my buddy Sam showed up as Elwood.
Just in case you are curious, follow this link for a close-up of the two of us.
